LASU Twins Shine as Taiwo Bags First Class, Kehinde Emerges Best Graduating Student
Twin brothers Taiwo and Kehinde Ajitokewu from Isale Eko, Lagos Island, have achieved academic excellence at Lagos State University.

Two twin brothers from Isale Eko, Lagos Island, have distinguished themselves at Lagos State University (LASU), with one graduating with First-Class honours and the other emerging as the Best Graduating Student in his department.
Taiwo and Kehinde Ajitokewu graduated from the Department of Science and Technology Education, Faculty of Education, during LASU’s 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies.
Taiwo earned First-Class honours in Biology Education, while Kehinde was named Best Graduating Student in Computer Science Education.
Their achievement came as LASU graduated 20,604 students across the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions. A total of 494 graduates earned First-Class honours, including 262 in the 2024/2025 session and 232 in 2025/2026.
Sharing their story on LinkedIn, Taiwo said their success was built on determination, consistency and the decision to see opportunities where others saw limitations.
“Excellence is the reward of steadfastness and consistency,” he wrote.
The twins also recorded several achievements during their undergraduate years, including two national scholarships, four local scholarships, three international recognitions and two professional mentorships.
They were both selected as Millennium Fellows for the Class of 2025 at LASU. Taiwo worked on a sustainability project focused on waste management, while Kehinde developed a project aimed at improving digital infrastructure, literacy and access to technology.
Both brothers also served as LASU SDGs Youth Ambassadors and Cowrywise Campus Ambassadors, alongside other leadership and community-service roles.
Reflecting on their upbringing in Isale Eko, Kehinde said their environment did not determine their future, stressing that discipline, faith, values and vision shaped their journey.
He urged young people not to allow their background or circumstances to limit their potential.
“Your background may shape your story, but it does not have the authority to write your future,” he said.
The twins attributed their achievements to hard work, resilience, faith and the support of their parents, teachers, lecturers, mentors and friends. They said they are now open to local and international opportunities.
