LASUMA Awards N6.9 Million Scholarships to 60 LASU Students Across Multiple Disciplines
The Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA) has awarded N6.9 million in scholarships to 60 undergraduate and postgraduate students of Lagos State University (LASU) as part of its 2025 annual scholarship programme.

The event, initially announced at the LASUMA 2025 Annual General Meeting and Awards held at Eko Club, Surulere, was graced by the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadiri Hamzat, as keynote speaker, and the Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa. The scholarships were extended to postgraduate and international students.
LASUMA President, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Anjorin, expressed delight over the initiative, describing it as a “dream come true,” reflecting on his own experiences benefiting from local and international scholarships. He acknowledged the key LASUMA members who sponsored the 2025 programme, including CP Lateef Adio Ahmed, Sen. Idiat Adebule, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, HRM Oba Galib Rufai, Hon. Muhibat Rufai-Adeyemi, Hon. Razak Ajala, Shk. Shakirudeen AbdulGafar (Mofesaye), CSP Idris Sarumi, and Alh. Mujitaba Rufai.
The selected scholars, drawn from over 500 applicants, represent a broad spectrum of disciplines including Arts, Education, Law, Medicine, Science, and Social Sciences. Beneficiaries span Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate levels, with selections based on academic brilliance, including students with a perfect CGPA of 5.0, PhD applicants with MSc distinction, Masters students with first-class BSc, as well as indigent students and orphans.
