LAUTECH Students Emerge Winners of UI Students Union Inter-Campus Oratory Competition

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has once again showcased its prowess at the University of Ibadan.

On September 4, 2025, the institution triumphed in the University of Ibadan Students Union Inter-Campus Oratory Competition.

The event, held at the International Conference Centre and organized in collaboration with L-H Investment, featured top talents from multiple schools. This victory marks another milestone for LAUTECH, reinforcing its standing as a hub of academic and extracurricular excellence.

The 35-year-old Oyo State-owned LAUTECH outperformed the University of Ibadan, which took second place, along with Lead City University in third and The Polytechnic of Ibadan in fourth.

The competition brought together some of the region’s brightest minds, making the win a testament to LAUTECH’s rigorous training and dedication. The event highlighted the competitive spirit and oratory skills that have become synonymous with the university’s student body.

The competition’s highlight was the performance of Adekunle Ayomide from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Olayinbo Ayomide from Medicine and Surgery, who represented LAUTECH and clinched the First Place Winner title.

Their victory earned them a prize of Two Hundred Thousand Naira, a well-deserved reward for their eloquence and preparation. The duo’s success has sparked pride across the campus, with students and faculty celebrating their achievement.
