The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Calabar, has issued a directive for all hostel residents at its Calabar and Okuku campuses to vacate their accommodations by 12 PM on September 14, 2025, marking the official end of the 2024/2025 academic session.

The announcement, detailed in an internal memo from the Office of the Dean, Student Affairs, signals the beginning of a scheduled maintenance period for university hostels.

According to the memo, signed by Dean Oku Ekpenyong Nyong, Ph.D., the academic session concludes on September 12, 2025, as outlined in the university’s academic calendar. To facilitate routine maintenance work ahead of the next session, all students residing in hostels are required to check out by the specified deadline. The university has outlined specific instructions for an orderly transition:

- All students/residents must check out of the hostels by 12 PM on September 14, 2025.

- Students are expected to return all hostel keys, mattresses, and hostel property to the Hostel Supervisors.

- Any student found to have damaged or removed hostel property will be surcharged accordingly.
