Team Triumph from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has emerged victorious at the grand finale of the Deep Funding National AI-Based Project Competition Hackathon 2025, winning a cash prize of $1,000.

Team Triumph from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has emerged victorious at the grand finale of the Deep Funding National AI-Based Project Competition Hackathon 2025, winning a cash prize of $1,000.

The competition took place at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, from December 7 to 9, 2025. The team had previously won the South West zonal stage held in Ilesha.

The winning project is an IoT and AI-Based Automated Medication Dispenser designed to help the elderly and disabled adhere to their medication schedules. The team comprised Amoo Taiwo (Mechanical Engineering), Bello Abdullahi (Electronic and Electrical Engineering), Emmanuel Lafenwa (Mechanical Engineering), and Azeez Fatiha (Computer Science). Their efforts were guided by Prof. Tesleem Asafa, Director of the Centre for Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST) at LAUTECH.

The triumph underscores the innovative spirit and technical excellence that define LAUTECH as a leading institution in technology and research.
