McPherson University Trains Security Unit on Effective Campus Protection

McPherson University has organized a comprehensive two-day capacity-building workshop for its security personnel, reaffirming the institution's commitment to safeguarding lives and property across its campus.

The training, titled The Principles of Effective Campus Security Coverage, was tailored to equip security officers with modern skills and strategies required for effective institutional safety management.

The session was facilitated by Dr. James Adetoyinbo, Director of Training at the Advent Training and Development Centre. A veteran campus security expert with over three decades of professional experience, Dr. Adetoyinbo guided participants through critical areas of campus security operations, intelligence gathering, professional ethics, and public relations.

Opening the workshop, Dr. Adetoyinbo commended the management of McPherson University for its proactive approach and sustained efforts toward developing a well-trained security force. He noted that continuing from the foundation established during last year's edition, the institution has demonstrated clear foresight by prioritizing regular professional development for its security staff.

The training covered key theoretical and practical modules, including campus intelligence principles, the operational roles and responsibilities of security personnel, and the deployment of fundamental working tools. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining professionalism, vigilance, and effective public relations to ensure a secure, conducive learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The Chief Security Officer of McPherson University, Mr. Tiamiyu Rasheed, was present throughout the workshop and ensured full attendance and active participation from all personnel under his command. He highlighted the importance of translating the knowledge acquired into daily operations to maintain optimal security standards across all university access points and facilities.
