NANS Borno State Chapter pays familiarisation visit to VC, KIU

The Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Borno State Chapter, Comrade Mohammed Sharif Hussain, led a delegation of the association on a formal familiarisation and introductory visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Professor Babagana Gutti.

During the engagement, Comrade Sharif stated that the primary objective of the visit was to formally introduce the newly constituted executive members of the association to the university leadership. He further expressed the association's desire for the Vice-Chancellor's guidance on strategic ways to promote and support the welfare of female students within the institution.

Comrade Sharif emphasized NANS's unwavering commitment to protecting the image and interests of female students across all tertiary institutions in Borno State, while collaborating with stakeholders to enhance the standard of girl-child education.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babagana Gutti, commended the association for its proactive approach and assured the delegation of the university management’s continued partnership. He noted that the Dean of Student Affairs remains a primary point of contact for student concerns, and added that both Deputy Vice-Chancellors are accessible to ensure administrative continuity.

Professor Gutti underscored the importance of maintaining peace and harmony within the university community, particularly regarding the protection of female students. He concluded by urging the NANS representatives to remain exemplary ambassadors of the institution and to provide positive leadership to their peers.
