National Open University of Nigeria Addresses Portal Issue

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has issued a notice to students regarding a portal error that has caused concern among users during the current academic session. A number of students reported seeing the message, “Record of previous semester registration not found. Contact ICT,” on their dashboards, a problem the university says stems from earlier glitches during semester registration.

According to NOUN, the technical issue caused the system to incorrectly deduct ₦5,000 from student accounts, instead of the full semester registration fee of ₦35,250 or ₦26,750, depending on the student’s programme.

The university's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department is actively working to resolve the problem. In the meantime, students have been assured that their academic records remain unaffected.
