Newgate College Holds 4th Induction, Oath-Taking Ceremony for Public Health Technician, ND Community Health Graduates

Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna, has successfully conducted its 4th Induction and Oath-Taking Ceremony for graduates of the Public Health Technician Department and National Diploma (ND) Community Health Department. The event marks another milestone in the College’s commitment to training competent healthcare professionals for Nigeria’s health sector.

Held at the Engr. A. A. Kure Auditorium, Newgate University Minna City Campus, the ceremony attracted guests from healthcare and academic sectors, parents, guardians, alumni and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the graduands.

In a goodwill message delivered by Newgate University Vice-Chancellor on behalf of Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Mallam Hassan Nuhu (Mayanan Minna), the Founder of Newgate Group commended the Provost and staff for dedication to quality education and training of skilled healthcare professionals.

He noted that the College continues to distinguish itself as a centre of excellence in health sciences education through academic standards, professional discipline and character development. He urged the newly inducted professionals to remain worthy ambassadors through integrity, competence and dedication.

Provost Mrs. Queendaline O. Iwuala welcomed guests and congratulated graduands on completing their training. She expressed appreciation to parents, guardians, lecturers, regulatory bodies and stakeholders for supporting the College’s growth.

Highlight of the ceremony was the keynote by Mrs. Martha Yerima of Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Department of Community Health and Family Planning. Speaking on “Public Health Strategy Aimed at Reducing Preventable Mortality and Morbidity in Children,”she emphasized the role of Public Health and Community Health professionals in addressing child mortality through primary healthcare interventions.

She highlighted routine immunization, maternal and child healthcare, nutrition education, disease prevention, community mobilization, health promotion, and early diagnosis of childhood illnesses. She charged graduands to embrace professionalism, compassion and continuous learning.

A major highlight was the administration of the professional oath, signifying formal induction into their professions and commitment to ethical standards, responsibilities and values of healthcare practice.
