Newgate University Minna Dominates Badminton Events at Niger State Intercollegiate Games

Newgate University Minna (NUM) delivered a masterclass in athletic excellence at the recently concluded Niger State Intercollegiate Games, hosted by the Niger State Sports Council. The institution’s representatives emerged as a dominant force, securing top honours across multiple racquet sports.

The university’s Badminton team delivered a historic performance, emerging as the Overall Winners by clinching four out of five available Gold medals. The clinical display of skill and discipline on the court set a new benchmark for the competition and solidified Newgate's reputation as a rising powerhouse in collegiate sports. 

In addition to the gold rush in Badminton, Newgate’s Squash team demonstrated remarkable resilience, battling through a competitive field to secure 3rd place overall. 

The University Management hailed the student-athletes for their "unstoppable spirit," noting that the victory is a reflection of the institution’s core values of discipline, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence. This outing marks a significant milestone for Newgate University Minna as it continues to balance academic rigour with a vibrant sporting culture.
