NIPR Anambra Chapter Visits COOU Vice-Chancellor, Commends Transformational Leadership
The Anambra State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, to congratulate her on her appointment and reaffirm the Institute’s support for her administration.
The Anambra State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, to congratulate her on her appointment and reaffirm the Institute’s support for her administration.

The delegation, led by the State Chairman, Prof. Nwammuo, described the visit as long overdue and praised Prof. Omenugha as a consummate professional whose career has consistently brought honour and visibility to the Institute. He conveyed apologies from senior members who were unavoidably absent and briefed the Vice-Chancellor on forthcoming NIPR programmes, including the 2026 Annual General Meeting, which will feature elections into national offices.
Prof. Nwammuo expressed confidence that Prof. Omenugha’s leadership would further strengthen COOU, enhance its public image, and expand its relevance within and beyond the state.

Also speaking, a member of the NIPR Council, Rev. Fr. Prof. Obiefuna, described the Vice-Chancellor’s appointment as “a square peg in a square hole.” He commended her enduring commitment to the public relations profession and encouraged her to continue applying core PR principles such as strategic communication, transparency, conflict management, and staff motivation in steering the affairs of the University.
In her response, Prof. Omenugha thanked the NIPR Anambra Chapter for the visit and the show of solidarity. She reiterated her commitment to building a university founded on excellence, integrity, and sustainable development, noting that several reforms and initiatives are already underway to reposition COOU as a hub for innovation and institutional growth.
She further reaffirmed her resolve to strengthen collaboration between COOU and NIPR, stressing that public relations values remain central to her leadership approach. The visit concluded with assurances of continued partnership and goodwill prayers for the success of her administration.
