NNPCL, NSUK, and Unijos Discuss EIA Revalidation

A team from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), and the University of Jos (Unijos) recently met to discuss the revalidation of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Baseline Studies (EBS) for the Middle and Lower Benue Trough.
The meeting, which included a courtesy visit to NSUK's Vice Chancellor, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, aimed to explore the next phase of the EIA project. This initiative builds on a successful seismic data acquisition project conducted by the University of Jos and NSUK consortium in 2017, for which an EIA permit was granted by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in 2018.
The team from Unijos is led by Professor U.A. Lar, while Professor Nathaniel G. Goki heads the NSUK team. This partnership highlights the institutions' commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible resource management.
The collaboration between NNPCL, NSUK, and Unijos demonstrates a shared dedication to best practices in environmental management and sustainability in the oil and gas sector.
