NSUK Chemical Engineering Students Win 2026 NSChE FCT–Nasarawa Inter-Tertiary Quiz Competition
Students of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), have emerged winners of the 2026 Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) FCT–Nasarawa Chapter Inter-Tertiary Institutions Quiz Competition.
Students of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), have emerged winners of the 2026 Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) FCT–Nasarawa Chapter Inter-Tertiary Institutions Quiz Competition.

The competition was held on June 11, 2026, at the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, and brought together Chemical Engineering students from selected tertiary institutions to test academic competence, technical knowledge, and professional readiness.
NSUK was represented by three 300-level students: Abubakar Musa Sabo, Ibrahim Imranatu Bala, and Mohammed Abdulmalik Hassan. The team was led by Engr. Dr. Bisike Chidiebere Egere, who served as captain and mentor.
The quiz competition was structured into three stages: Stage One focused on general professional knowledge, Stage Two assessed technical professional knowledge, and Stage Three evaluated engineering application-based understanding. The panel of judges was chaired by a representative of the NSChE, with representatives from participating institutions also serving as members.
At the end of the competition, NSUK emerged victorious with a total score of 127.5 points, defeating the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, which scored 80.0 points. The NSUK team won Stage One and Stage Three, while the Federal Polytechnic team secured Stage Two.
During the award presentation ceremony, the Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (FCT–Nasarawa Chapter), Engr. Salisu Ahmed, FNSChE, presented the trophy to the NSUK team and commended their performance. He urged the students to maintain focus and continue excelling in their academic and professional development.

The result underscores Nasarawa State University, Keffi’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the training of competitive professionals capable of excelling on national and international platforms.
