Professor Nasir Naeem Abdulsalam Appointed Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Company

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Nasir Naeem Abdulsalam as the new Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited, effective April 3, 2025.

Professor Abdulsalam is a seasoned academician and Professor of Geophysics. Before his appointment, he was a lecturer in the Department of Physics at the University of Abuja. He holds a Bachelor of Science, Master's in Applied Geophysics, and PhD from the University of Abuja, as well as an MSc in Climate Change and Global Energy Policy from the University of London, UK.

The appointment is expected to boost the steel industry's growth, and Professor Abdulsalam has expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, pledging to work towards realizing the President's vision for the steel industry.
