SPACE Matriculates 665 Part-Time Undergraduate Students at Sule Lamido University
Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa, SLUK, has reiterated its commitment to providing students with opportunities and a conducive environment to learn, develop skills, interact with qualified academics, and prepare for meaningful contributions to society.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, disclosed this during the 2nd Matriculation Ceremony of the School of Preliminary and Continuing Education, SPACE, for the 2026/2027 Academic Session, held on Friday, August 21, 2026.
Professor Yakasai, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Engineer Professor Nasir Faruk, further revealed that SPACE is being strengthened to provide flexible and accessible higher education opportunities for people who may not be able to pursue conventional full-time programmes.
Speaking on the future prospects of SPACE, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the University is working seriously towards introducing Open and Distance Learning, ODL, which will provide greater flexibility and access to university education.

He added that the University is also exploring the introduction of additional programmes through SPACE, including Cyber Security, Information Technology, Agriculture, and other relevant programmes that respond to the needs of society and the changing demands of the labour market. He noted that the proposed programmes would be introduced in subsequent academic sessions, subject to the necessary approvals and regulatory requirements.
Presenting the matriculating students to the Vice-Chancellor, the Director of SPACE, Dr Muhammad Abdulkadir, disclosed that a total of 665 students were admitted into various part-time degree programmes offered by the School for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
The Matriculation Oath was administered by the Registrar of the University, Malam Adamu Mohammed, who was represented at the ceremony by the Director of Establishment in the Registry Department, Malam Uba Alhaji Idris.
