TASFUED Inaugurates Seven Committees to Enhance Governance, Staff Welfare and Institutional Development

The Management of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, has inaugurated seven strategic committees aimed at strengthening governance, improving institutional administration and enhancing the overall operations of the University.

The committees were inaugurated on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, and include the Committee on Review of University Statutes, Committee on Review of the University’s Conditions of Service, Committee on Okada Riders’ Issues and Shuttle Matters, Committee on Congregation Election, Committee on Rewarding Excellence Among Staff, Committee on Institutional Laureate Selection and Committee on Data Submission Task Force.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oladipo MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELPN, said the committees were constituted in accordance with the University’s statutes and ordinances to assist Management in effectively discharging its responsibilities.

According to him, the committees were expected to make meaningful contributions to the development of the University, with their responsibilities covering areas such as the review of governing instruments and conditions of service, transportation management, staff recognition, academic excellence and data compliance.

Earlier, the Registrar of the University, Mr Dapo Oke FCIA, MNIM, described the inauguration as significant, stating that the appointment of members to the various committees reflected Management’s confidence in their sense of responsibility, commitment and ability to deliver on their assignments.

He said serving on the committees should be regarded as both a responsibility and recognition of the members’ contributions to the University. He added that the appointments could also encourage other members of the University community to demonstrate greater commitment to their duties.

The Registrar charged the committees to approach their assignments with dedication and ensure timely delivery of their mandates, particularly on matters critical to the effective administration of the University.

The Committee on Review of University Statutes is chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Rotimi Olatunji Ettu. Other members are the Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Mr Dapo Oke; Prof. Bayo John Oluwasegun Ayorinde; Mrs Elizabeth Oluwakemi Kayode; Dr Olugbenga Olabode Okusanya; and the Bursar, Mr Kabir Kayode Ogunneye FCA. Mr Abimbola Adedayo Kalejaiye serves as Secretary.

The Committee on Review of the University’s Conditions of Service is chaired by the University Librarian, Prof. Adebambo Adewale Oduwole. Its members are Dr Olutade Olanrewaju Adenugba, Dr Ifeoluwa Odukunle Odusanya, Oluseun Mobolanle Sodipe, Prof. Abosede Morenike Ewumi, Mr Olumide Olawale Fasina, Dr Olufemi Adeyinka Oso, Dr Samuel Adebayo Olanrewaju, Engr. Sunday Temilade Williams and Dr Moses Adegbola Ogundeji. Mr Ademola Olorunwa Adesanya serves as Secretary.

The Committee on Okada Riders’ Issues and Shuttle Matters is chaired by the Dean, Students’ Affairs Division, Prof. Olukunle Olagunju Balogun. Other members are Dr Samuel Adebayo Olanrewaju, Dr Moses Adegbola Ogundeji, Mr Omotayo Adedayo Ogunjobi, Mr Ashiru Qudus Abidemi, Chief Omosanu Taiwo, Mr Israel Aduragbemi Olalere, Mr Jimoh Olatunji, Mr Gold Owolabi and Alhaji Shuaib Abubakar. Mr Olaniyi Oyewole Olaitan serves as Secretary.

The committee is expected to address issues relating to motorcycle operations, shuttle services and the organisation of transportation activities within the University. The Vice-Chancellor stressed the importance of properly profiling and identifying commercial motorcycle operators, as well as improving the organisation of the transport park.

The Committee on Congregation Election is chaired by Prof. Olusegun Sowole, with Prof. Catherine Olutoyin Williams, Prof. Adedapo Christopher Loyinmi and Mr Olutosin Abiodun Onawoga as members. Mr Niyi Olaitan serves as Secretary.

During the inauguration of the committee, Prof. Oladipo expressed confidence in the members’ ability to conduct the election process in a credible and orderly manner.

To institutionalise the recognition of outstanding contributions by members of staff, Management also inaugurated the Committee on Rewarding Excellence Among Staff.

The committee is chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Adekunle Olanrewaju Adeogun. Mr Ademola Olorunwa Adesanya serves as Registry Representative, Mr Wale Oduyoye as Bursary Representative, Mr M.O. Quadri as University Library Representative and Mrs Folasayo Osibanjo as Secretary.

The Vice-Chancellor charged the committee to ensure that hard work, commitment and faithful service to the University were appropriately recognised, stressing that staff members who made outstanding contributions deserved to be appreciated.

The Committee on Institutional Laureate Selection is chaired by the Provost, Postgraduate School, Prof. Hammed Olakunle Simisaye.

Its members are Prof. Adefunke Oluwafunmilayo Ekine, Prof. Zabur Olayiwola Soluade, Prof. Latifat Morenikeji Erinle-Ibrahim, Prof. Olusiji Olaseni Lemo, Prof. Timothy O. Erinosho, Prof. Adejoke Adeneye Mako, Prof. Gafar Idowu Ayodeji, Prof. Adeyemi Abayomi Awofala and Prof. Adekunle Adisa Adeniyi. Mrs Bidemi Andu-Omoniyi serves as Secretary.

The committee is expected to promote academic excellence through the selection of institutional laureates in line with the University’s academic mandate.

The seventh committee, the Committee on Data Submission Task Force, is chaired by Dr Ademola Adenubi. Its members are Mr Ezekiel Ayodele Oladimeji, Mrs Kikelomo Olubunmi Uthman, Ms Racheal Toyin Samuel, Mrs Olusola Olabimpe Okubanjo, Mrs Adeshola Halimat Adesanya and Mrs Olubukanla M. Mebude. Miss Deborah Anuoluwapo Ojeh serves as Secretary.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that although the responsibilities assigned to the committees were substantial, they could be achieved through commitment, teamwork and institutional support.

He further disclosed that the establishment of relevant structures had become increasingly important following directives requiring institutions to put appropriate mechanisms in place to ensure effective administration and compliance.

The inauguration ended with the formal recognition of the committee members and official photographs, as Management expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated committees would contribute significantly to the continued development and effective administration of TASFUED.
