UDUS Mourns Passing of Emeritus Professor Ahmad Tijani Sulaiman

It is with profound sorrow and heavy heart that management, staff, and students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), announce passing of one of most distinguished scholars, Emeritus Professor Ahmad Tijani Sulaiman.

Emeritus Prof. Sulaiman was not just member of community; he was pillar of it. Renowned scholar and pioneer in field of Solar Energy, he served as Professor of Solar Energy Studies at University, where he was promoted to rank of Professor in 1983.

His legacy at UDUS is indelible. He served as Director of Energy Research Centre and as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), among other distinguished positions. His dedication to academic excellence and administrative integrity helped shape trajectory of institution.

Beyond UDUS, his impact on Nigeria's educational landscape was monumental. From early days at Government College, Barewa, and King's College, Lagos, to his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Yola, and Acting Vice-Chancellor of University of Abuja, he remained beacon of knowledge and service.

Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and two-time President of Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (SESN), Prof. Sulaiman was national treasure whose contributions to science, technology, and renewable energy will continue to inspire generations.

Loss of Emeritus Prof. Sulaiman is colossal blow to family of academia and to nation at large. However, we take solace in remarkable life he lived and enduring legacy he leaves behind.
