UI to Admit Candidates with Low UTME Scores
The University of Ibadan (UI) has announced that candidates who scored below 200 in the 2024 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be considered for admission at its Distance Learning Centre.
The University of Ibadan (UI) has announced that candidates who scored below 200 in the 2024 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be considered for admission at its Distance Learning Centre. This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Director of the Distance Learning Centre (DLC), Professor Babatunde Omobowale, on Monday.
Professor Omobowale stated that candidates intending to pursue undergraduate degrees at the university will be enrolled through the Open Distance eLearning (ODeL) mode. He emphasized that this decision aims to make quality education accessible to all.
The statement also noted that new and returning students will resume in September. Professor Omobowale reiterated UI’s commitment to providing educational opportunities, saying, “Those who scored below 200 in JAMB UTME or did not sit for the UTME can also take advantage of this opportunity and enroll in any of the university’s undergraduate programs in ODeL mode.”
