UNIMED Teaching Hospital Marks World Oral Health Day with Sensitisation at St. Andrew’s Grammar School
In commemoration of the 2026 World Oral Health Day, the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) took its dental health awareness campaign to the students of St. Andrew’s Grammar School.
Aligning with the global theme, “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life,” the outreach focused on educating the youth on the critical link between oral hygiene and overall well-being. Experts from the teaching hospital engaged the students in practical demonstrations of proper brushing techniques and shared essential tips for maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
The initiative underscores UNIMEDTH’s commitment to preventive medicine and community health, emphasizing that early education is key to reducing the prevalence of dental diseases in society. The students were encouraged to adopt the habit of brushing twice daily and to see oral care as a fundamental part of a happy, healthy lifestyle.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, where dental professionals addressed common myths regarding oral health, leaving the students better equipped to be ambassadors of hygiene in their respective homes.
