University of Nigeria, Nsukka Roar Hub Secures Four Slots in iDICE Startup Bridge Programme

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka has recorded another milestone in its innovation ecosystem as four startups from its Roar Nigeria Hub were selected for the competitive iDICE Startup Bridge Programme following a nationwide selection process involving innovation hubs and startups across the country.

The programme is designed to identify, incubate, and scale high-potential startups capable of delivering innovative solutions, strengthening enterprise capacity, and contributing to economic growth.

The selected startups from Roar Nigeria Hub include FLAMELESS Energy Systems, founded by Ugwuanyi Paschal Izuchukwu; VIBET BIO, founded by Ezeoka K. Chukwuma; Imaxeuno, founded by Chinedu Ifediora David; and Scalable, founded by Ezema Christian Obinna.

The startups will undergo a 15-week intensive incubation programme focused on business growth acceleration, operational strengthening, business model refinement, market readiness, and investment preparedness. The programme also includes mentorship, business development support, investor-readiness training, capacity-building sessions, strategic advisory services, and access to industry networks.

Their selection underscores the growing profile of Roar Nigeria Hub as a leading innovation and entrepreneurship centre within the University of Nigeria ecosystem. The hub continues to position itself as a launchpad for technology-driven enterprises addressing real-world challenges while creating employment opportunities.

Operating within the Lion Science Park ecosystem, Roar Nigeria Hub serves as the University’s dedicated innovation platform for nurturing ideas from students and young entrepreneurs and connecting them to investors for commercialization.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Professor Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, congratulated the founders, expressing confidence that their participation in the programme will enhance their visibility, investment prospects, and long-term business sustainability.

According to the Manager of Roar Nigeria Hub, Chinedum Agatha Akwara, the selection reflects the hub’s commitment to developing the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs through strategic exposure and structured incubation opportunities.

Roar Nigeria Hub was established by the University of Nigeria to support students and young innovators in developing and scaling ideas into viable enterprises through incubation and investor linkage support.
