The ICTC Unit of the University of Port Harcourt (UniPort) has taken a groundbreaking step towards enhancing digital services and sustainability with the commissioning of a fully automated, solar-powered digital infrastructure.

This ambitious initiative, supported by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Education, marks a significant milestone in the university’s push for technological innovation and environmental sustainability.

The newly launched infrastructure is designed to automate critical digital systems while harnessing solar energy, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply to support the Center's operations. The integration of solar power aligns with global trends in sustainable energy, positioning the university at the forefront of digital transformation in Nigerian higher education.

Professor Mary Iwundu, Director of ICTC, expressed her deep gratitude to the Federal Government for its support in bringing this project to fruition.
