UNIZIK Prof. Raphael N. Okigbo Elected President of Mycology Society of Nigeria

The Mycology Society of Nigeria has elected Prof. Raphael N. Okigbo as its new President. Prof. Okigbo is a Professor of Mycology and Plant Pathology in the Department of Botany, Faculty of Biosciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The announcement was made by the Acting Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Njelita Louis, who congratulated Prof. Okigbo on the achievement and described the election as a testament to his academic excellence and commitment to advancing the study of fungi and plant pathology in Nigeria.

Members of the University community have also extended their goodwill messages, celebrating the recognition of Prof. Okigbo’s contributions to science and scholarship.
