The State Coordinator of NYSC Plateau, Mr. Jonathan I. Yavala, officially declared the 2024 Batch "B" Stream II Lecture Series open for Corps Members deployed to the state. The flag-off ceremony took place at the Multipurpose Hall of the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, WAYE Foundation, Doi-Du, Jos South LGA.

In his address, Mr. Yavala emphasized the importance of security, urging the Corps Members to exercise caution throughout their service year to avoid falling victim to criminal activities. He informed them that a series of lectures would be delivered by professionals from various fields to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed for the tasks ahead. The NYSC-specific lectures would also be instrumental in preparing them for their roles during the service year.

The guest lecturer, Mr. Alexander Dalyop from Conflict Security and Development Consult Limited, Abuja, underscored the significance of security awareness for Corps Members. He stressed that security is not solely the responsibility of the government and provided practical tips to help them stay safe and navigate through potentially dangerous situations during and after the orientation exercise.

In his opening remarks, the Head of Lectures, Mr. Elayo Dangana, encouraged the Corps Members to take the lecture series seriously, advising them to pay close attention and take notes on key points during the sessions.

The lecture series is designed to provide Corps Members with essential knowledge and skills to ensure their safety and success throughout their service year.
