The Acting Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Professor Sunday Olowo Samuel, has been invited to attend the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference in China.

This opportunity is courtesy of the Edo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Professor Samuel disclosed this information during an interface with media practitioners at the inauguration ceremony of the Governor, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo and the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, in Benin City. He expressed his gratitude to Governor Okpebholo, stating that the trip is a testament to the governor’s commitment to supporting the university.
“I will be leaving for China on November 17, 2024, to attend the conference. I am also scheduled to visit Jinlin University of Chemical Technology and the petrochemical industry, where I will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on partnership with AAU,” Professor Samuel said.
The MoU aims to promote education and technology transfer for the petrochemical industry, enhancing technology transfer, scholarship exchange programs, and financial benefits for AAU Ekpoma.
Governor Okpebholo has demonstrated his commitment to revitalizing the university, acknowledging the poor funding status of AAU Ekpoma and promising to improve funding from this month.

As reported by Professor Samuel, the governor’s efforts to strengthen tertiary education in Edo State are evident in his support for the university’s participation in international conferences and partnerships.
