ABU Appoints Committee to Restructure Procurement System

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has established a committee to restructure and strengthen its procurement system.

The committee, headed by Prof Ashiru Bello, is tasked with reviewing the current procurement framework and identifying areas for improvement.

The committee's responsibilities include:

- Reviewing the current structure, staffing, and operations of the procurement unit

- Examining relationships with other key units

- Identifying gaps and inefficiencies

- Recommending an appropriate structure and reporting framework

- Proposing governance mechanisms to ensure value for money

In a related development, Engr. Nura Garba has been appointed as the Acting Head of the university's Procurement Unit, effective November 3, 2025. The appointment is in recognition of his vast experience and proven integrity in handling procurement and administrative processes .
