ABU to Host Maiden Edition of “Lunch with the Vice-Chancellor”
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, will tomorrow hold the inaugural edition of “Lunch with the Vice-Chancellor,” a new interactive programme introduced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, shortly after assuming office.
The initiative is designed to foster open dialogue between students and the university management, bridging possible communication gaps while ensuring inclusivity. Each edition of the programme will bring together 100 students drawn from across faculties, departments, and representative councils, with special attention to gender balance, graduate and undergraduate categories, and students with special needs. The event is scheduled to hold four times annually.
The students selected for tomorrow’s lunch emerged through a Google form application process, advertised widely to allow interested participants to indicate interest.
Highlights of the event will include a keynote address by Muhtar Bakare, Chairman of The Alternative Bank, and a lecture on leadership by Prof. Sulaiman Abdullahi Karwai, a distinguished business administration scholar from ABU.
The Special Guest of Honour and Chairman of the Occasion will be Ambassador Shuaibu Ahmed, Senior Partner at Ahmed Zakari and Company (Chartered Accountants).
Prof. Ahmed will officially declare the programme open with his remarks before engaging directly with the students over lunch.
This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to fostering representative, diverse, and constructive student-management engagement.
