Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Emerges Best in DHIS2 Utilization and HR Development

The Management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi wishes to notify the general public of its recent national achievements, reaffirming the hospital’s commitment to excellence in healthcare service delivery and institutional performance.

ATBUTH Bauchi was rated overall best among 18 selected tertiary hospitals in the utilization of the District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2). The DHIS2 platform, deployed by FHI360, is a web-based Health Management Information System used in more than 70 countries and serving over 40% of the global population. It supports efficient data collection, management, analysis, visualization, offline entry, and seamless integration with other digital health platforms.

The hospital’s exceptional ranking is a direct reflection of its adherence to data quality standards, accuracy in reporting, robust data management systems, and effective use of analytic tools. This milestone demonstrates ATBUTH Bauchi’s unwavering pursuit of evidence-based planning, accountability, and improved service delivery.

In a related development, the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has also recognised ATBUTH Bauchi as the Best Organisation in Human Resources and Development for 2024 within the Bauchi Area Office. The Chief Medical Director, Professor Yusuf Bara Jibrin, expressed profound appreciation to the ICT Unit, Health Information Management Department, and all stakeholders whose efforts led to these recognitions.
