ACU to Hold Two-Day Workshop to Strengthen Drivers' Professionalism and Road Safety
Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, will host a two-day capacity-building workshop for its drivers as part of efforts to enhance road safety, professionalism, and ethical conduct within the institution's transport system.
Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, will host a two-day capacity-building workshop for its drivers as part of efforts to enhance road safety, professionalism, and ethical conduct within the institution's transport system.
Organised by the Directorate of Works and Services, the workshop is scheduled to hold on July 23 and 24, 2026, at the ACU Welcome Centre, beginning at 7:00 a.m. each day.
The workshop is themed "Enhancing Road Safety, Ethical Policing and Professional Driving Skills" and is designed to equip the University's drivers with improved safety practices, ethical standards, and professional driving competencies.
Facilitators for the programme will include officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), and the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA).

Medical professionals will also deliver sessions on first aid and health management, while student representatives are expected to provide perspectives on transportation and safety within the University community.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, is expected to declare the workshop open as the Chief Host, reaffirming the University's commitment to promoting safety and professionalism among its drivers.
The Director of Works and Services, Engr. Dr. Oluwole Olaniyi, will serve as the host of the event.
