ADUSTECH VC Flags Off 6th Edition of VC Cup 2026 Inter-Hostel Football Competition

Vice-Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai, today flagged off the opening match of the 6th Edition of the Inter-Hostel Football Competition, tagged “VC Cup 2026,” organized by the University’s Directorate of Sports.

Prof. Yakasai was accompanied by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Nuraddeen Bashir Umar; Dean, Student Affairs Prof. Abdulkadir Muhammad Dambazau; Bursar Alhaji Aminu Halilu Tukur; and other principal officers.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the VC commended the Directorate of Sports for sustaining the annual competition. He emphasized the role of sports in promoting unity, discipline, teamwork, physical fitness, and healthy interaction among students, and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting sporting activities as part of holistic student development.

The opening fixture saw Off-Campus A defeat Area IV 2–0, setting an exciting tone for the tournament.The VC Cup continues to serve as a platform for discovering sporting talents within the university community while fostering friendship and healthy competition among students from different hostels and residences.

University Management wishes all participating teams a successful and injury-free tournament and urged students to uphold sportsmanship throughout the competition.
