Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has organised a fitness exercise for part-time students of the Department of Religious and Development Studies, fulfilling a commitment made during their welcome programme earlier in the week.

The exercise, held on Friday, July 17, 2026, transformed the university's sports pavilion into a centre of physical activity as students and staff participated in a series of fitness routines.

Leading the session was the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, who joined the students in full sporting attire and personally participated in the exercise. The initiative forms part of the university's commitment to providing a well-rounded educational experience that includes extracurricular, spiritual, and social activities.

The fitness session was supervised by the university's Chief Coach, Dr. Sunday Omobhude, and featured aerobics designed to improve joint flexibility. Participants also took part in a jog around the university campus to promote cardiovascular health and overall physical well-being.

Although the workout was physically demanding, many of the students expressed satisfaction with the experience, describing it as refreshing and beneficial. The exercise reinforced the university's emphasis on healthy living, a philosophy that has remained a key focus of Prof. Oduwole's administration since she assumed office as the institution's first female and fifth substantive Vice-Chancellor.
