Al-Istiqama University Awards Scholarships and Admission to Igbo Students Following Academic Milestone

On Monday 22.12.’25, The Founder of the Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila Sen. Kawu Sumaila OFR, Ph.D graced an official ceremony at Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, alongside AUSU Vice Chancellor and Professor of Arabic from Igboland, and Imam of the National Mosque Prof. Ilyas Usman Onah, during which he formally presented admission letters and Scholarships forms to ten (10) Igbo students from Enugu State for various undergraduate degree programmes at AUSU.

This Commendable initiative followed the Senator’s observation of an online post stating: “This is another set of Igbo Muslim children who completed the Holy Qur’an at Hayyatul Islam, Ibagwa, Nsukka, Enugu State, in April 2025.”

In a gesture of additional support, his colleague Sen. Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, made a generous donation of Ten Million Naira (₦10,000,000) to the ten (10) students. The donation will be disbursed as a monthly allowance of ₦20,000 to each beneficiary, aimed at supporting their welfare and sustaining them throughout their educational journey at the University. 

At the Event, together with Founder was the Senior University officials, including the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulhadi Sale Kumurya, Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Kabiru Musa Alhaji, Academic Secretary Malam Hassan Abdurrahman, Dean of Students Affairs, Mal. Dahiru Safiynu Kachako and othe University Staff members.
