Another AAUA Student Allegedly Killed by Boyfriend

A student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Joy Adeyemi, has reportedly been murdered by her boyfriend, just weeks after two other students were kidnapped and killed.

Joy, a student in the Department of Human Kinetics, went missing on Tuesday. Her decomposing body was discovered days later, following a foul smell from her locked room.

According to reports, her boyfriend, a local indigene of the community, allegedly stabbed her and fled, taking money from her POS business. “We don’t know why he did it,” said a fellow student, Kunle. “It was the smell that led to the discovery.”

The incident has sparked outrage on campus. Students staged a protest, demanding justice and state intervention. Placards read: “Stop Killing Us” and “Say No to Student Killings.”

In response, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Ondo State Government and security agencies to find and arrest the killer.

“This is a failure of the security system. We will not stay silent,” said NANS leaders Comrade Adekanye Adeboye and Oladele Emmanuel. Police have arrested three suspects while efforts to track down the main suspect are ongoing.

The university’s media head, Victor Akinpelumi, urged students to remain calm and allow investigations to proceed. “We appeal to students not to take the law into their hands,” Akinpelumi said. “Justice will be served.”
