ASUU Awards Scholarships to 22 Indigent Students at Ahmadu Bello University

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Chapter, has awarded scholarships worth N4.4 million to 22 indigent students. This gesture marks the second edition of the union's scholarship program.

 

The ceremony, held at the Yusufu Bala Usman Hall, Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria, was attended by university officials, including the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, who was represented by the Dean, Students Affairs Division, Prof. Sahalu Junaidu.

Prof. Bala commended ASUU's initiative, describing the scholarship award as a "noble objective." He advised the awardees to make the most of the opportunity and strive for academic excellence.

 

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Advancement, Research and Innovation, Prof. Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi, praised ASUU for prioritizing societal needs over personal interests. He urged the students to reciprocate the kindness in the future.

ASUU Chairman, Comrade Haruna M. Jibril, congratulated the beneficiaries and thanked the union for increasing the scholarship value from N2 million to N4.4 million.

 

Representatives of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to ASUU for supporting their academic pursuits.
