ASUU Declares Nationwide Protest, Exams Postponed at Northwest University Kano

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared a nationwide protest across campuses scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2025, prompting the postponement of academic activities in several universities.

At Northwest University Kano (NWUK), management announced on Monday that all examinations earlier fixed for Tuesday have been rescheduled due to the planned demonstration.

According to a statement signed by Abubakar Ibrahim, Head of the Public Relations Unit, for the Registrar, the exams originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2025, will now hold on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Similarly, exams that were to take place on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, have been moved to Monday, September 22, 2025.

Students are urged to take note of the adjustments and comply with the new timetable.

The protest, according to ASUU, is part of its push to address long-standing issues affecting Nigerian universities.
