Meet Professor Oyindamola Bidemi Yusuf, Distinguished Biostatistician Driving Excellence in Public Health Research

Professor Oyindamola Bidemi Yusuf is a distinguished Nigerian academic and Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Ibadan, whose career reflects excellence in scholarship, professional development and public health research.

Professor Yusuf obtained her http://B.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Ibadan in 1997, followed by postgraduate training in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics in 1999. She subsequently earned her Ph.D. in Medical Statistics from the same institution in 2006.

Her professional accomplishments extend beyond the classroom. In 2005, she became a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, United Kingdom, and in 2007, she attained the status of Chartered Statistician.

Between 2011 and 2013, she served as a Biostatistician at the King Abdullah International Medical Research Centre in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, gaining valuable international experience.

At the University of Ibadan, Professor Yusuf has contributed significantly to academic leadership, serving as Head of the Medical Statistics Unit and previously as Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Medical Statistics.

Her research interests span key areas of public health, including malaria, maternal and child health, tuberculosis, reproductive health, infectious diseases and statistical analysis.

She has also undertaken professional training at internationally recognised institutions, including the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
