Members nationwide are directed to boycott classes any month their salaries are delayed beyond the third day of the new month.

The union's National President, Professor Christopher Piwuna, stated that lecturers cannot continue to work without receiving their salaries, citing the current economic challenges in Nigeria.

ASUU's decision comes after repeated delays in salary payments, with Piwuna expressing frustration over the government's handling of the situation.

The union feels that the delayed payments are a form of punishment for rejecting the IPPIS platform.

Non-academic staff unions, including the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Allied Institutions (NASU), have also expressed solidarity with ASUU.
