Awe Staff Forum Commends FULafia Vice-Chancellor for Inclusive Leadership

A delegation from the Awe Staff Forum of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, commending his administration for inclusive leadership and staff development.

The delegation's members, led by Dr Usman Ibrahim, said the visit was made to express appreciation for opportunities provided to staff since Abdul Rahman assumed office on February 11, 2021. 

He said that several appointments and capacity-building initiatives had strengthened relations between the University's Management and staff from Awe Local Government Area.

Ibrahim highlighted the appointment of Awe indigenes as chief security officer, head of the department of public administration and the retention of an Awe staff member as an ICT expert in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. 

He added that over 10 Awe staff benefited from the most recent appointments, alongside local and international training opportunities.

The delegation presented souvenirs, including a commemorative mug and traditional Awe salt to Abdul Rahman.

Responding, Abdul Rahman thanked the forum and attributed the administration’s achievements to collective effort.

He said that decisions were guided by fairness, competence and institutional needs.

He urged continued support for the incoming Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, to ensure continuity and progress.
