Bayero University Kano Dismisses Defamatory Allegations Against Former Dean; Demands Retraction

The Management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has issued a formal disclaimer regarding a viral social media post containing allegations of corruption against the former Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Shamsuddeen Umar.

The statement, released by the University’s Digital Media Unit, identified the author of the post as Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulateef (popularly known as MC Almajiri), a graduate of the Department of Geology.

The University categorically dismissed the claims as false, baseless, and malicious, affirming that Professor Umar served his tenure with "distinction, integrity, and professionalism." The Management highlighted that the Professor’s tenure was extended multiple times specifically due to his exceptional performance and dedication to student welfare.
