BUK Students’ Union Issues Directive on Digital Hostel Allocation Verification

The Students’ Union Government of Bayero University, Kano (SUG-BUK), under the leadership of Abdulmudallib Kalli Sheriff, has issued an emergency administrative directive changing how hostel accommodation results are accessed for the New Campus.

According to a Special Bulletin (Vol. 2, No. 71) released on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from the Comr. Nuruddeen Gwadabe Secretariat, the student union confirmed that physical accommodation lists will no longer be published in public spaces to protect student privacy and streamline logistics.

All concerned undergraduates who applied for institutional housing must immediately log into the official BUK accommodation portal to verify their deployment status personally.

The SUG leadership warns that securing a room allocation on the portal does not guarantee the space until financial obligations are met. All successful applicants must complete their hostel fee payments within three (3) days from their digital confirmation date.

Failure to execute the payment within this stipulated 72-hour window will result in the immediate forfeiture of the allocated bed space, which will be recycled back into the system for other applicants. Students are strongly urged to treat the directive with urgency to avoid preventable housing inconveniences.
