OAU Investigates Claims of Unauthorised App Use in Hostel Bedspace Balloting

The Division of Student Affairs at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has issued a further notice to returning students following enquiries and concerns surrounding the bedspace balloting exercise scheduled for October 27, 2026.

The Division said it had received numerous enquiries about the exercise and confirmed that the university's e-portal experienced congestion about one hour before the scheduled commencement of the balloting.

However, it described reports that some students conducted the balloting through an “App” other than the university's recognised e-portal as unfamiliar, adding that the claim was currently under investigation.
