BUK Taekwondo Stars Shine at 27th NUGA Games

Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has added a gold and a silver medal to its tally at the 27th Nigeria University Games (NUGA) in Jos, through outstanding performances by its Taekwondo athletes, Shukurat Abdulsalam and Azeezat Ayantola.

In the -46kg female category, Abdulsalam won gold with a commanding knockout victory over Joseph Tarka University, Makurdi, followed by wins against Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, and the University of Ibadan. Ayantola secured silver in the -53kg female category, losing to Lagos State University in the final after defeating University of Jos and University of Abuja.

This achievement marks BUK's second gold medal at the Games, following Kenneth Zachariah's win in the 1500m race, solidifying the university's position as a leading contender in diverse sporting disciplines at the 27th NUGA Games.
