UDUS Radiography Student Busari Roqeebat Overcomes Challenges to Excel Academically

Busari Roqeebat, a 26-year-old Radiography student at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has shared her inspiring story of perseverance and determination in pursuing her academic dreams despite facing numerous challenges.

Roqeebat, who hails from Oyo West LGA, initially aspired to study Human Medicine but faced setbacks in her attempts to gain admission. However, she remained focused and eventually discovered her passion for Radiography, which led her to secure admission to UDUS in 2018 with a score of 276 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Throughout her academic journey, Roqeebat has demonstrated exceptional resilience and dedication, balancing demanding coursework with extracurricular activities. She has excelled academically, winning several awards and scholarships, including the 4YouthByYouth (4YBY) HIV contest and a scholarship for academic excellence.

Roqeebat attributes her success to her consistent study routine, prioritization, and seeking guidance from senior colleagues when needed. She also emphasizes the importance of building strong relationships with peers and lecturers, which has been instrumental in her growth and development.

Looking ahead, Roqeebat plans to complete her internship, pursue further studies, and specialize in radiotherapy, with the goal of becoming a highly skilled Radiotherapist with advanced certifications or a Master's degree within the next 5-10 years.
