LASU Opens 2026/2027 Direct Entry Admission Screening for Qualified Candidates
Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Online Admission Screening Exercise for candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry.
Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Online Admission Screening Exercise for candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry.
The online screening exercise is mandatory for candidates seeking admission into LASU as regular students through the Direct Entry route for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Eligibility for Direct Entry Screening
All Direct Entry candidates, including candidates with LASU Foundation (JUPEB) qualifications, who wish to be considered for admission into Lagos State University for the 2026/2027 academic session are eligible to participate in the screening exercise, provided they have obtained the Direct Entry Form from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and selected Lagos State University as their first-choice institution.
LASU stated that only the LASU Diploma is acceptable for Direct Entry admission, except for NCE qualifications being used for admission into programmes in the Faculty of Education.
Candidates of Lagos State origin seeking admission into 100 and 200 levels who have previously established their claims before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) constituted by Lagos State University will have their claims automatically validated during the online admission screening process.
Accredited Courses for the 2026/2027 Academic Session
Candidates have been advised that only the accredited courses listed below are available for the 2026/2027 academic session and that they can only apply for programmes for which they possess the relevant admission requirements.

Direct Entry Candidates Required to Submit Screening Documents
All Direct Entry candidates are expected to immediately submit a copy each of their Online Admission Screening Report and notification of Diploma result, for LASU Diploma candidates, or NCE result, at the Admission Annex/Liaison Office, Room 7, Administrative Block II.
LASU Releases Application and Online Registration Procedures
Prospective candidates are required to complete the payment and online registration process through the LASU admission screening portal.

The payment and registration procedure is as follows:
- Visit www.lasu.edu.ng.
- Point to Student and click on New Applicants.
- Click on UTME/DE Screening at https://lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening.
- Click on DE CANDIDATE LOGIN.
- Enter the UTME Registration Number and Surname, then click on SUBMIT.
- Click the "Make Payment (Admission Screening)" button.
- On the Payment Page:
- Supply the JAMB Registration Number.
- Select "Admission Screening Fee" as Description.
- Select "Ojo" as Campus.
- Select "Student" as Category.
- After successful payment, return to the Dashboard.
- Click on "Start Admission Screening".
- The candidate's basic biodata information will then be displayed.
- Select "Mode of Entry".
- Enter the Transaction ID used for payment.
- Click on "Submit" and continue with the self-screening process.
- Candidates who need to update or correct previously supplied information can repeat the procedure. Such candidates will be required to make payment for corrections.
- Candidates may also rescreen to change their course of study. Subsequent screening attempts or corrections will attract the applicable payment.
Online Self-Screening Process
STEP I
After successful payment for the LASU 2026/2027 Admission Screening Exercise, candidates should return to https://lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening.
STEP II
Candidates should use their Direct Entry Registration Number and Surname to log into the LASU Online Screening Platform and provide their Transaction ID.
STEP III
Candidates are required to carefully provide their personal details as follows:
- Surname
- First name
- Middle name
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Country
- State of Origin
- Local Government Area
- Personal Email Address
- Personal Phone Number
- Contact Address
- Name of Parent/Guardian
- Phone Number of Parent/Guardian
- Address of Parent/Guardian

Candidates should save and proceed after entering their personal information.
They are then required to carefully select their choice of course and save and proceed.
Candidates must also select the number of O'Level sittings and save and proceed before entering their required O'Level details.
LASU stated that candidates must possess five O'Level credit passes in subjects relevant to their desired course of study at not more than two sittings. However, Medicine and Dentistry require O'Level results from only one sitting.
Candidates seeking admission into any Engineering programme who intend to use two sittings of O'Level results must possess six O'Level credit passes, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language, two other science subjects and any other subject.
For Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering, candidates must possess a credit pass in Further Mathematics.
A credit pass in English Language is compulsory for admission into all courses at Lagos State University.
Candidates must ensure that their O'Level results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS before the closure of the Admission Screening Exercise.
Candidates of Lagos State origin must have established their claims before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) set up by Lagos State University. Their claims will be automatically validated before they can proceed with the online screening.
The university also stated that any examination taken after July 2026 will not be accepted.
STEP IV
Candidates are required to carefully preview all the information supplied and certify that the details are correct.
Candidates who agree with the information displayed must check the "I CERTIFY" button. By selecting the "I CERTIFY" button, the candidate confirms that the screening decision will be based solely on the information supplied and that the screening decision is final.
Candidates who do not agree to the stated terms will not be permitted to proceed beyond this stage.
Candidates should then click the continue button.
STEP V
Following submission and successful completion of the online screening, candidates will be redirected to the Screening Homepage.
Candidates should enter their Direct Entry Registration Number and click on DOWNLOAD RESULT to generate their Screening Report.
LASU Adopts Point-Based Grading System for Direct Entry Screening
The screening of candidates will be conducted using a Point Grading System based on the UTME score and SSCE or equivalent grades in the five best relevant subjects for the candidate's chosen course.
The relevant subjects are contained in the 2026 JAMB brochure, available online at www.jamb.gov.ng and http://ibass.jamb.gov.ng/ebrochure.html.
Candidates have been advised to visit the JAMB website and study the O'Level subject requirements for their chosen courses before participating in the online Admission Screening Exercise.
LASU stated that payment and registration or updating would remain open for two weeks, from 12 September 2026 until 26 September 2026 at 12 midnight.
