The Inter-University Consortium Africa (IUCA), a strategic alliance between African and European universities committed to addressing contemporary challenges facing the continent, held its 10th International Conference (IIC10) at Kyambogo University, Kampala, Uganda, from November 5–6, 2025.

As the immediate past host of the conference, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), under the visionary leadership of Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, was duly represented by Prof. Nwobi Okoye and Prof. Ngọzi Joe-Ikechebelu, the University’s Director of Linkages.
The 10th edition of the conference was chaired by Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, who, speaking through the COOU delegation, congratulated the Consortium for reaching this remarkable milestone. She commended the IUCA for its steady progress since its inception in 2013, following the pioneering partnership between COOU (Nigeria) and the University of Eldoret (UoE, Kenya).

Prof. Omenugha also unveiled the IUCA Development Strategic Plan, a forward-looking framework that will shape the Consortium’s research priorities, institutional collaborations, and global engagements over the next decade.
In her address, the Vice-Chancellor urged member institutions to remain true to the founding vision — to build bridges of knowledge and collaboration that transcend borders and disciplines, foster academic exchange, and deliver practical solutions to Africa’s pressing challenges.
The conference drew participation from Vice-Chancellors of member universities, including Prof. Eli Katunguka, the host Vice-Chancellor of Kyambogo University; Madam Turyagenda Kedrace; and officials from Uganda’s Ministry of Education.

Congratulations to the Inter-University Consortium Africa (IUCA) on yet another milestone in advancing academic excellence, innovation, and global collaboration.
