Bayero University, Kano (BUK) is a top-tier federal university in Nigeria, located in Kano State. With 18 faculties and over 100 academic programs, it stands out as one of the fastest-growing universities in Nigeria, both academically and in infrastructure.

BUK is among the eight universities awarded "Distinction" by the National Universities Commission (NUC). It holds the third position in the number of accredited courses as of 2019, and since 2007, has maintained one of the highest numbers of accredited programs in the country.

BUK is the only university in Northern Nigeria offering a Doctor of Optometry degree. It is one of only four universities in Nigeria offering Mechatronics Engineering.
