The University of Ibadan (UI) has celebrated the academic excellence of Fathia Raji, who officially graduated on January 26, 2026, with a First-Class degree in Mathematics, overcoming significant financial hurdles to reach the pinnacle of academic success.

Fathia’s journey began in 2020 following her secondary school graduation. Facing limited financial backing, she sustained her dreams through private tutoring and a modest lifestyle, remaining undeterred in her pursuit of a degree from Nigeria's premier university. By her third year, she had already maintained a staggering 3.90/4.00 CGPA.

Her time at the University of Ibadan was marked by a balanced commitment to academics, leadership, and extracurricular activities:

 A perennial fixture on the Dean’s Roll of Honour for three consecutive years and a recipient of the Silver Honour Award in the International Youth Maths Competition.

Her brilliance attracted five prestigious scholarships, alongside impactful internships at the National Institute of Radiation Protection and Research (NIRPR) and UI-LISA.

She served as the Vice President of the National Association of Mathematical Science Students (NAMSS), UI Chapter, and mentored over 30 students.

Athletics: Displaying versatile talent, she earned three football medals competing with the Epsilon Ladies Club.
