FUNATO Commences Orientation Programme For Newly Recruited Non-Teaching Staff
The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), on Tuesday, 3rd November 2026, commenced its three-day Internship, Orientation and Familiarization Programme for newly recruited non-teaching staff. The programme is designed to familiarise participants with the University's administrative structure, policies, values and operational procedures.
The programme was formally declared open on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olaniyi Jacob Babayemi, by the University Librarian, Dr. Abdul Ganiyu Adigun, who represented the Vice-Chancellor at the opening ceremony.
Day One featured presentations on Establishments and Code of Conduct by Miss Hughes Oriyomi, Ethics and Etiquette by Mr Tajudeen Fashola, and Healthcare and Facilities Available at the University Health Services by Mrs Ajala A.O.
The sessions emphasised professional conduct, workplace ethics, staff responsibilities, administrative procedures, proper documentation, and the importance of safeguarding personal and institutional well-being.
The programme also highlighted the need for staff to understand and uphold the University's rules and regulations while contributing meaningfully to its institutional objectives, including research, service delivery and community engagement.

To encourage active participation, the organisers announced cash rewards for the three highest-scoring participants in the assessment scheduled for the end of the programme.
The orientation continues from 4th to 5th November 2026, providing further opportunities for the newly recruited staff to deepen their understanding of the University and their respective responsibilities.
