Zulum Pledges Support for Medical College at Nigerian Army University

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has pledged to partner with the Federal Government and the Nigerian Army University, Biu, to establish a College of Medical Sciences to address the shortage of medical professionals.

Zulum made the pledge on Monday when the university's management visited him at the Government House, Maiduguri. He directed relevant officials to develop a plan for the project, which he said could take three to four years to complete.

The governor also approved a proposed Memorandum of Understanding to enable the university to use the State Specialist Hospital for clinical training.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lawan Bala Buratai, thanked Zulum for his support, including a recent donation of N100 million and the construction of housing units at the institution.
