In a move to evaluate and make recommendations on vehicle serviceability, officials from the Federal Ministry of Works (FMW) visited the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) today to conduct a detailed vehicle assessment. The evaluation, which took place in the Vice-Chancellor's Conference Room, focused on vehicles selected by the Board of Survey for possible retirement or retention based on their condition and market value.
Leading the FMW delegation, Engr. Albert Godfrey and Mrs. Funmilayo Adediran emphasized that their goal was to assess each vehicle’s condition thoroughly to determine its future use within the university. Engr. Godfrey, who has collaborated with FUNAAB for over 15 years, assured that the assessment would be impartial and held to federal standards. He noted that Mrs. Adediran would serve as the Principal Liaison Officer, ensuring smooth communication between FMW and FUNAAB throughout the evaluation.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi commended Engr. Godfrey’s longstanding dedication and expressed gratitude to the FMW team for their support. He reassured them of FUNAAB's hospitality and commitment to a productive partnership with the ministry.
The Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga, expressed optimism that the insights from the evaluation would guide future government decisions on vehicle replacement, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency at FUNAAB.
The visit underscores the Federal Ministry of Works’ commitment to maintaining efficient transportation resources across Nigerian universities, ensuring vehicles align with current service standards and operational needs.
