Federal Polytechnic Bauchi SUG President Participates in Bauchi Education Budget Performance Review Meeting

The President of the Students' Union Government (SUG) of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Comrade Idris Mustapha Abubakar, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote quality education and protect the interests of students across Bauchi State.

The student leader made this known after participating in the 2026 First Quarter Education Sector Budget Performance Review Meeting held at the Bauchi State Ministry of Education.

The meeting, organized by the Young Leaders Network (YLN), brought together representatives of the Ministry of Education, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), development partners, student leaders, and other key stakeholders to assess the implementation of the state's education budget and discuss measures to improve education financing and service delivery.

The Permanent Secretary of the Bauchi State Ministry of Education was represented at the meeting by Alhaji Abdullahi Bappa, who joined other participants in reviewing the progress recorded in the education sector during the first quarter of the year.

Discussions centered on budget implementation, accountability in public education spending, and strengthening collaboration among government institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, and student representatives to improve learning outcomes across Bauchi State.

Speaking after the meeting, Comrade Idris Mustapha Abubakar commended the Young Leaders Network for creating a platform that encourages dialogue, transparency, and collaboration among stakeholders working to strengthen the education sector.

He also reaffirmed his dedication to supporting policies and programmes that enhance access to quality education while ensuring that the voices and interests of students continue to be represented in education-related discussions and decision-making across the state.
